Custom Bookbinding FAQs
• Do you offer custom book sizes for your handbound books?
We don’t offer custom book sizes at this time.
But...we love to when we can. Feel free to share your ideas. In some cases we can accommodate special requests.
• Can I use my own fonts in my custom book design?
Yes, you can use your own fonts in your custom book design.
Just let us know the font name. We usually have it or can download it. If not, you’re welcome to send us the file.
• Can you print on the BACK COVER of custom books?
Yes, we can print on the back cover of certain custom books.
For our 6 × 8" books, this is no problem.
On 8 × 10" guest books or 8.5 × 11 screwpost binders with removable pages, we can print on the back cover if you choose a quarter canvas style.
In every case, we can also custom print the inside covers of your book.
• Can you help me create a custom cover design?

Just share your ideas and tell us who or what the book is for, and we’ll guide you toward the perfect keepsake.

• How is a custom handbound book made?
Each personalized book is handcrafted here in house using time-honored bookbinding techniques for exceptional quality and durability.
• Hand-sewn folios create a strong, flexible foundation.
• Reinforced spines ensure lasting durability and allow the books to lay open flat for comfortable use and display.
• Hardback covers wrapped in binding canvas and/or heavy cover paper add a timeless elegance.
• The final step: each cover is pressed to perfection, taking its final form as it dries.
• What’s the difference between full canvas and quarter canvas book covers?
The difference between full canvas and quarter canvas book covers is how much of the cover is wrapped in canvas.
On our larger books (8×10” or 8.5×11”), you can choose:
• FULL CANVAS COVERS: The entire cover is wrapped in canvas, with a 5×5” customizable inlay on the front.
• QUARTER CANVAS COVERS: The spine (¼ of the cover) is wrapped in canvas. The rest is white or kraft paper, which we can custom print.
